A. Additional credits

  • For students who have completed the relevant courses in the lower degree program among those who are classified as having similar majors or other majors based on the results of major classification, part or all of the credits earned in the lower degree program may be accepted after obtaining the dean’s approval of additional credits (prerequisites) certificate via confirmation from the head of the major department.

B. Credits earned from other graduate schools

  • When a student who has earned at least B grade after completing the course included in the curriculum of the Graduate School of Physical Education at another graduate school’s master's degree program in Korea or abroad before entering the Graduate School of Physical Education fills out the application for acceptance of credits earned at the other graduate school after confirmation by the head of the major department, up to 6 credits may be accepted with the approval of the dean regarding the master's degree program.
  • Even if the credits from other graduate schools are recognized, the term of study shall not be shortened.

C. Transfer credits

  • When a student who has transferred to the Graduate School of Physical Education applies for the acceptance of credits earned at other graduate schools after receiving confirmation from the head of the major department, up to 9 credits may be accepted with the approval of the dean regarding the master's degree program and up to 12 credits may be recognized with the approval of the director for the doctoral program.

D. Credit exchange

  • Graduate students of physical education can take courses established at Kyung Hee University general graduate school and specialized graduate school with the approval of dean of the each graduate school through the confirmation of both the thesis advisor and the head of the major department.
  • Completion of credit exchange application > confirmation of thesis advisor and the head of the major department > submission to the administration office > Approval or dismissal.
  • Credit exchange or Cross-taking of courses between majors is allowed only 1 subject per semester.

E. Cross-taking of courses between majors

  • Cross courses are offered between majors in the Graduate School of Physical Education under the confirmation of both the thesis advisor and the head of the major department.
  • Credit exchange or Cross-taking of courses between majors is allowed only 1 subject per semester.

F. Notes (restrictions on credit recognition)

When a student falls under one or more of the following, the total accepted credits may not exceed a maximum of 12 for master’s programs and 18 for doctoral programs (in the cases of “B,” “C,” and “D” above).

  • Credits approved by the Graduate School regarding the completion of courses included in the curriculum of the Graduate School of Physical Education at another domestic or foreign graduate school prior to admission to the Graduate School.
  • Credits approved by the Graduate School of Physical Education after a student has transferred grades earned at a previous graduate school.
  • Credits acquired through the exchange of credits with another graduate school (including courses replacing the dissertation).
