A. Eligibility for Completion
Completion of the degree program is recognized if all the following requirements are met.
- Enrollment over the term of study for each degree program
- Completion of credits for each curriculum and degree program
- Completion of additional credits (prerequisites) if classified as similar major or other major
- Pass the major exam
1) Credits completed by degree program
- Master's course: essential/elective/common course 24 credits
- Doctoral course: essential/elective/common course 36 credits
2) Additional credits
- Graduates of similar majors or other majors from a university (graduate school) must obtain additional credits in addition to the credits of the degree program.
- According to the results of major classification, students in similar majors must acquire 6 additional credits, students in other major for the master's degree program must acquire 9 additional credits, and students in other majors for the doctoral degree program must acquire 12 additional credits (however, foreign students do not need to earn additional credits).
- Additional credits are required for theoretical courses (excluding practice or practical training) at the School of Physical Education (undergraduate study).
- Additional courses must have a grade of D- or higher (retakes are possible).
- When the approval of the dean is obtained via confirmation of the head of major department for the certificate of completion of additional courses (prerequisites), some or all of the credits earned in the lower degree program may be recognized.
3) Major Exam
- Student can apply for major exam if at least 18 credits are required in the degree program, and if their average grade is at least C (2.0 points on average).
- When a student earns more than 80 points out of 100 in a major test, he/she is regarded as passed.
- If student either fails the exam or fails to take the major exam, he/she can retake it once in the semester. In the retest, students who earns 90 points or more out of 100 points will be regarded as passed.
