The Graduate School of Physical Education at Kyung Hee University was founded in 1993 to cultivate sports leaders who will promote physical education based on Kyung Hee's three principles: creative effort, progressive vigor, and constructive collaboration. In March 2001, it became the first graduate school of physical education to be approved by the Ministry of Education by operating both a master's program and a special program in physical education, due to the specialty of the major and the differentiation of the curriculum.

The graduate school is the first and only physical education graduate school in Korea, and leading Korean athletes, such as Nam-kyu Yoo, Jung-hwa Hyun, Gun-jin Cho, Sang-jin Son, and Jin-il Lee, have earned degrees or completed degree programs at the graduate school. It is the only university in Korea that has a low pressure and low oxygen training ground, which is used for various experiments. The graduate school has a variety of laboratories, including a nutritional biochemistry lab, sports prescription room, and AT lab, and also provides specialized physical education to the general public through non-degree courses, such as courses specialized for alternative therapy, top health care leaders, top sports industry executives, and golf professionals.
